Now I know I am starting at the tail end of this series with my reviews, but eventually I will catch up and have all of them up. Probably before the 13th book comes out, at least I hope to have it done by then. This series has shown to have its ups and downs but none more than this book.
Claire and Shane are finally getting to happy point; Eve and Michael are having an engagement party. It has been a rough road for all of them the past year. Shane is working on his anger issues; Claire has finally been put to the test with Myrnin and let’s say it doesn’t go well for them at that point. He does manage to redeem himself to Shane and everyone else. Eve and Michael are trying to pretend almost everyone objects to their possible marriage.
Then all of a sudden a new threat comes to town and this time the vampires can’t save themselves much less anyone else. So they decide to leave but they are going to take the whole town out for mercy because the Draug are not to be messed with and they will kill everyone including the humans. Of course Claire shows her bravery and courage by standing up to Amelie and getting her to realize that she can’t keep running forever, eventually she is going to get tired or caught. So they decide to launch an offensive attack on the Draug, which basically is Magnus and a bunch of his clones. They manage to take some out and save Oliver, Naomi, and Michael but Amelie is bitten and that’s how it ends with that fight.
I don’t want to give away to many spoilers because this series is by far great. I haven’t read a single book from it that doesn’t make me want to continue the story. I am going to be sad when the 15th book comes out as the last one.
I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars.
