Desires of the Dead by Kimberly Derting (Body Finder #2)
Violet can sense the echoes of those who’ve been murdered—and the matching imprint that clings to their killers. Only those closest to her know what she is capable of, but when she discovers the body of a young boy she also draws the attention of the FBI, threatening her entire way of life.
As Violet works to keep her morbid ability a secret, she unwittingly becomes the object of a dangerous obsession. Normally she’d turn to her best friend, Jay, except now that they are officially a couple, the rules of their relationship seem to have changed. And with Jay spending more and more time with his new friend Mike, Violet is left with too much time on her hands as she wonders where things went wrong. But when she fills the void by digging into Mike’s tragic family history, she stumbles upon a dark truth that could put everyone in danger. From Goodreads.
So the gang is all back together for the second book, Jay and Violet is going strong as a couple. They are really cute together. A girl in the book is kinda obsessing over Jay and threatening Violet throughout the whole book.
Violet gets caught by the FBI and an agent comes and tries to get her to join her team of unusual people. Kids like Violet that are different and can each do something different. Of course at first Violet doesn’t tell anyone anything, not about being stalked and not about the FBI. Eventually Jay realizes that Violet is hiding stuff from him but he is patient and willing to wait until she is okay with talking to him about it.
Mike and Megan just moved to town, Mike and Jay hit it off and manages to be friends immediately. Megan no one knows about because she is quiet and keeps to herself. Eventually Violet figures out who is stalking and threatening her which causes Jay and her to fight and break up for a little while. During that time apart, she talks to Rafe who is about her age and on the team trying to figure out if she should join. Which of course, I was all like join it, trust them, you won’t feel so left out and abnormal all the time and you will help people.
Eventually Violet figures out what happened to Mike and Megan’s mom, who just vanished 2 years before. Of course when that happened Megan became a wreck basically. And emotionally unstable, so she took it out on Violet. Mike freaks out when he finds out what his dad did. All in all, this was a good book I enjoy the series.
I give the second book out of the series 4 out of 5 stars.
