Raised by Wolves by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (Raised by Wolves #1)
Adopted by the Alpha of a werewolf pack after a rogue wolf brutally killed her parents right before her eyes, fifteen-year-old Bryn knows only pack life, and the rigid social hierarchy that controls it. That doesn’t mean that she’s averse to breaking a rule or two.
But when her curiosity gets the better of her and she discovers Chase, a new teen locked in a cage in her guardian’s basement, and witnesses him turn into a wolf before her eyes, the horrific memories of her parents’ murders return. Bryn becomes obsessed with getting her questions answered, and Chase is the only one who can provide the information she needs.
But in her drive to find the truth, will Bryn push too far beyond the constraints of the pack, forcing her to leave behind her friends, her family, and the identity that she’s shaped? From Goodreads.
As I started reading this series I knew it was going to be one of those series that had many up’s and down’s. I have reread this series now at least twice, it was that good. Bryn is so tough, she was willing to do anything to protect her adopted mom, Ali but this time she couldn’t protect her from giving birth. Of course she realizes that the pack is hiding a secret even her bff Devon is in on it but won’t tell her.
When she finds that the secret is a newly turned werewolf named Chase, she bargains with her Alpha Callum to spend more time with him because he is like her. He survived an attack just as she did when she was younger. Eventually she finds out that the werewolf that attacked her and killed her parents, the one that she thought was killed that horrible night, is alive and actually changed Chase.
So after a horrible beating courtesy of Devon’s mom, Ali, the twin babies, and Bryn move up north to get away from the pack and the punishments that the dole out. While up there, Bryn and her other best friend Lake start looking for the Rabid. Eventually they figure out a way to find out and they have to open the connection in Chase to find out details.
Throughout the whole story you can see the romance between Chase and Bryn grow to a point that it was beautiful. They just knew each other the way that a soul mate knows each other. The depth that the friends went through to make sure they all were okay was amazing. Everyone got out of it okay and Bryn managed to become the first female human Alpha.
I honestly loved the story, it was fast paced and I didn’t want to put the book down until the very end. I loved Chase, Devon, Lake and Bryn.
I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars.
