Torment by Lauren Kate (Fallen #2)
Hell on earth.
That’s what it’s like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel.
It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts—immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.
At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn’t told her everything. He’s hiding something—something dangerous.
What if Daniel’s version of the past isn’t actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?
The second novel in the addictive FALLEN series . . . where love never dies. From Goodreads.
This was the second book in the series and it was really good. This time it introduced 2 more angels, one bad and one good also some Nephilim, Miles and Shelby. Throughout the story Daniel and Luce would get together even though they aren’t supposed to. But when they do they fight, a lot.
Their fights all differ but the main issue at hand is Luce isn’t sure she loves Daniel or that their love is true. She can’t understand why he would stay around after all the time and losing her each time. I can see where she would worry and wonder about their love. I mean it was instant and all but it grew even more.
This story is about friendship, love and getting to know yourself as a person. When Luce gets to Shoreline she has to deal with Shelby’s attitude towards her. She also has to deal with the death of Penny and learning who she really is. When Thanksgiving rolls around, everyone ends up at Luce’s parent’s house.
While there everything ends up going well, once her parents leave to walk the dog as the Luce and everyone clean up. While doing that, they are attacked and Luce just couldn’t get over the fact that Miles cared a little too much for her and Cam was willing to lose her completely just so no one else could get her. In doing that she decided that she was going to find out everything that she could about her past and why she loves Daniel and how he could survive losing her over and over again.
I really liked this book but I wanted Daniel and Luce to be together and she knows that they should be together and not always question everything. I get that when he told her to do some things she didn’t want too because of the way he told her. I mean I wouldn’t want someone ordering me around like that.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
