My Boyfriend Merlin by Priya Ardis (My Merlin #1) Join me as I love one book at a time.
If you can’t trust your boyfriend, who can you trust?
In this modern Arthurian, 17-year-old nice girl Arriane, aka Ryan, DuLac just found out her badass biker boyfriend, Matt, is a little older than he was letting on. By a few eons.
In fact, he is really Merlin–the Merlin, King Arthur’s Merlin, the greatest wizard who ever lived. But Ryan’s not impressed. Tired of being a relationship loser, she’d rather kick his legendary behind.
Sure, the world has been crazy ever since the sword and the stone fell out of the sky like a meteor. But despite gruesome gargoyles, a new world of magic, and the guy driving her crazy, Ryan knows that family is everything. Will Merlin sacrifice hers to save the world? Will she be able to stop him? From Goodreads.
There wasn’t a single thing that I didn’t fall in love with in this book. Merlin and an evil brother?? Yea that is pretty awesome. But not nearly as awesome as the next Arthur coming of age, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love the Arthurian tales and who won’t fall in love with this trilogy.
Now Ryan is adopted by a family friend since her mom passed away, she is close to her adopted family because that is all she has left in the world. She falls for Max who in turn turns out to be someone pretty awesome. Bad guys trying to take out the people that may possibly be the next Arthur, I mean this book had so much. Not to mention the pretty awesome love scenes between Ryan and Matt and Ryan and Vane.
Now I totally was thinking that Vane was going to be super evil and try and take out the group that Matt brought in but he actually seemed to care. He went out of his way to teach Ryan and ended up falling for her more than I think even Matt. Which I thought would have been impossible. Ryan had to train to learn to beat not only the other candidates, and makes friends with most of them like Gia and of course her adopted brother Grey. She also had to deal with Vane being a butthead most of the time to her, of course she found out why later. But she also learned how to defeat the gargoyles that want their power.
In the end of the book Ryan had to make a decision that could potentially have really bad consequences in the next book. Although I loved who ended up being the next Arthur, I also loved what Matt did to make sure she got what she wanted, time to grieve her adopted sister’s death.
I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars!
