Existence by Abbi Glines (Existence Trilogy #1)

Existence

What happens when you’re stalked by Death? You fall in love with him, of course.

Pagan Moore doesn’t cheat Death, but instead, falls in love with him.

Seventeen year old Pagan Moore has seen souls her entire life. Once she realized the strangers she often saw walking through walls were not visible to anyone else, she started ignoring them. If she didn’t let them know she could see them, then they left her alone. Until she stepped out of her car the first day of school and saw an incredibly sexy guy lounging on a picnic table, watching her with an amused smirk on his face. Problem is, she knows he’s dead.

Not only does he not go away when she ignores him, but he does something none of the others have ever done. He speaks. Pagan is fascinated by the soul. What she doesn’t realize is that her appointed time to die is drawing near and the wickedly beautiful soul she is falling in love with is not a soul at all.

He is Death and he’s about to break all the rules. goodreads-badge-add-plus-1

I just want to point out first and foremost that I absolutely LOVE Abbi Glines. So much so that I found out that she is coming to the Orlando area in mid February and am pretty upset that I can’t go. I have a wedding the week before and can’t take the time off to go up there with the hubby. Now if the best friend wanted to do a friend date and go up there with me so I am not all alone 2 hours away, I would go and love her to death. But seriously I love every book I have read of hers and I have read them all. Some multiple times. This book hooked me into the trilogy immediately.

It stats with Pagan starting her senior year in high school and it goes through the up’s and down’s with her friends and getting a boyfriend outside of the one that she had for about 3 years before. She meets Dank on the first day while he is sitting at a picnic table and she tries so hard not to stare at him. Of course he is good looking but she thinks he is dead and a regular soul. Which you can’t blame her for that seeing as she has been seeing them since she was a little girl. There was something about Pagan as a character that I loved. And when she started dating Leif I was a little iffy. I really liked Dank and that was why.

I loved how Pagan never knew what Dank was going to do next. Even I had trouble figuring out where the book was going to go. I thought he was a great guy. He knew he was no good for her and tried to stay away from her so that she can continue living her life that was meant for her. I did like the scenes where he would get jealous of her and Leif or when she would get jealous of Dank and Kendra.

Honestly there isn’t much to say about this book that I didn’t love. As soon as I started it, I wanted to know what else was going to happen. It sucked that I had to wait for the second and third book to come out after this one but I was willing to wait since I liked it so much. I really don’t think that Abbi can’t write a great book, I have never been disappointed in her yet!

To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

Why I am waiting for it?

Honestly I have every Abbi Glines book ever and some TWICE, once as an ePub for my Nook and once as a paperback. Yes that is how much I love her and everything she does. I am pretty sure her and Tammara Webber and Jennifer L Armentrout tie for favorite author of mine. But honestly I love that Abbi is moving out of Young Adult and going further into New Adult, especially with her last two books, While It Lasts and Just For Now. I was pretty sure this book comes out sometime in January 2013 but there isn’t an exact date for its release but you can bet I will have it the moment it releases, actually probably beforehand. I will probably preorder it.

Summary

The day Preston Drake figured out that wealthy women paid well for a set of tight abs and a pretty face his life turned around.

The run down rat-infested trailer he had shared with his alcoholic mother and three younger siblings was now only a place he visited to pay the bills and stock the pantry with food.

He no longer worried about his family starving or living without electricity. The money he made entertaining rich older women more than covered his family’s needs and his own. He had it all figured out. Except…

There was this girl.

She was as innocent as he was tainted.

Amanda Hardy wished her knees didn’t get weak when Preston walked into a room. She hated the fact her heart raced when he flashed his smile in her direction. He had a different girl in his bed every night. He was the kind of boy a smart girl ran from. So, why was she coming up with ways to get close to him? Even when it was obvious he wanted to keep her at a distance.

Maybe her heart knew something the world didn’t. Maybe Preston Drake was more than just a pretty face.

Bio:

Abbi Glines can be found hanging out with rockstars, taking out her yacht on weekends for a party cruise, sky diving, or surfing in Maui. Okay maybe she needs to keep her imagination focused on her writing only. In the real world, Abbi can be found hauling kids (several who seem to show up that don’t belong to her) to all their social events, hiding under the covers with her MacBook in hopes her husband won’t catch her watching Buffy on Netflix again, and sneaking off to Barnes and Noble to spend hours lost in the yummy goodness of books. If you want to find her then check Twitter first because she has a severe addiction to tweeting @abbiglines.   Facebook is also somewhere she visits a little too often. She blogs regularly but rarely about anything life changing. She also really enjoys talking about herself in third person.

Can he make her fall in love with him… again?

When Pagan Moore proved worthy of Death’s devotion, he was given the gift of getting to keep her.

But Dank was never promised that Pagan would keep him.

When a soul is created, so is its mate. In every lifetime those souls find each other. They complete the other’s destiny. It’s time for Pagan’s soul to choose if she truly wants an eternity at Death’s side or if she wants the mate created just for her.

Dank didn’t think he had to worry about her choice. He knew where her heart belonged. Until he realized that every kiss, every touch, every moment of their time together would be washed from her memories. He would have to win her heart all over again and prove to her soul that he was where she belonged.

If only her soul’s mate wasn’t right there standing in his way. From Goodreads.

Why I am waiting for it?

Now, if you haven’t seen my earlier WoW posts you don’t realize that I absolutely LOVE Abbi’s books. I don’t just own one or two of them, I have all of them on my Nook. I can’t wait to find out what happens with Dank and Pagan, I want her to be happy but I think it will break my heart if they aren’t together. But we will find out in this last book of the trilogy, I am excited and a little sad that this trilogy is ending. This book is due to be released on September 18th.

The Vincent Brothers by Abbi Glines

The Vincent Brothers by Abbi Glines

He may have given her up without a fight, but Sawyer Vincent is far from over losing the girl he’s loved all of his life. Instead of giving up his best friend and the girl he thought he’d spend forever with, he gave Ashton and his brother Beau his blessing. However, adjusting to seeing Ashton wrapped up in Beau’s arms isn’t easy. Complicating everything even more, Ashton’s cousin Lana is in town for the summer. Sweet, kind, soft-spoken Lana, who gets under his skin. Just being near her makes him forget all about Ashton and his broken heart. Lana is everything he wanted Ashton to be except she isn’t Ashton. She lacks the backbone to stand up for herself and confidence that Ashton wears like a crown.

Lana McDaniel has lived her life in her cousin’s shadow. While Lana struggled with her grades no matter how hard she tried, her mother praised Ashton’s intelligence. She hadn’t been blessed with Ashton’s blond hair and flawless skin, but that didn’t keep her mother from lamenting her naturally red hair and freckles. But none of that would have mattered if Ashton hadn’t always had Sawyer Vincent wrapped around her finger — the only boy Lana wanted. Once Ashton let Sawyer go, Lana had been so sure that he’d move on. Determined to make Sawyer finally see her, she’d talked her mother into letting her spend the summer with Ashton. But Sawyer is still in love with Ashton, and Lana isn’t going to be anyone’s rebound girl. No matter how yummy Sawyer Vincent’s kisses taste. From Goodreads.

Wow, this book starts 6 months where the first one left off. Which was really good, everyone had graduated high school and they were all getting ready to go to college. Sawyer is still angry and in love with Ashton. But Ashton is still madly in love with Beau and they have been together for the 6 months if you don’t count the summer before senior year as well.

Lana has been in love with Sawyer since she was a kid and now that Ashton is out of the picture, she decided it was time for a makeover in hopes to catch his attention. She doesn’t realize that he still cares about Ash. She figures it has been 6 months and Ash is happy with Beau so he shouldn’t be all hung up on her.

There were some epic fights in the book and some dumb moments on Sawyer’s part. Seriously I wanted to smack him in the back of the head and tell him to stop being an idiot. Of course the two that really knew what was going on was Ash and Beau; they could see it in the way that Lana and Sawyer looked at each other. It was such a roller coaster ride of emotions in this book, at times I felt so bad for Lana but then she wouldn’t do what she should and then I would want to yell at her. The characters in the book were very realistic; you could see the fighting with themselves that they were going through throughout the whole book. Sawyer needed to learn that when Ash needed help, he should allow Lana, her cousin, to help out as well. Lana needed to learn that not everyone is going to put you behind someone else, like she isn’t important enough.

Once again, I have to say that Abbi is an amazing writer and I almost hope that there is a third book because I loved the characters so much.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines

The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines

Being the good girl isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Ashton Gray has grown weary of playing the part to please her parents, and to be worthy of the town’s prince charming, Sawyer Vincent. Maybe That’s why she’s found herself spending time with Sawyer’s cousin, Beau, while he’s away for the summer camping with his family. Beau is nothing like her perfect boyfriend. He’s the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, dangerous in ways she’s only day dreamed about, and the one guy she should stay away from.

Beau never envied Sawyer his loving parents, his big nice home, or his position as quarterback. He loves him like a brother. Which is why he’s tried everything in his power to keep his distance from Sawyer’s girlfriend. Even if he has loved her since the age of five, Ashton is Sawyer’s girl, so therefore she’s off limits. But when Sawyer leaves for the summer, Ashton, the one girl Beau would move Heaven and Earth for, decides she wants to get into trouble. Stabbing the one person who’s always accepted him and stood by him in the back, is the cost of finally holding Ashton Gray in his arms. Is she worth losing his cousin over?…. Hell Yeah. From Goodreads.

I love Abbi Glines. Why? Because she is awesome, seriously. This story is about Beau and Ashton finding their friendship and falling madly in love at the same time. Of course the bad thing is that Ashton is in a serious relationship and has been, even worse is the fact the guy happens to be Beau’s cousin and best friend, Sawyer. He probably shouldn’t have gone camping that summer.

I loved how the story started with Ash trying to be a Good Samaritan and help Beau out because he is drunk and so is his date. Of course she didn’t want to do and was deciding on actually stopping at the same time she was stopping to help. She is convinced she isn’t good enough for Sawyer because she wants passion in her relationship and she wants to say what she thinks most of the time. She just wants to be herself instead of the goody goody everyone thinks she is.

Beau, not only was he sexy but he was so sweet to Ash. He didn’t want her to get hurt and protected her fiercely. He was willing to let her go if she chose Sawyer again but he really didn’t want her to go. Of course he probably should have showed it more than he did.

Sawyer was a sweet guy but he just wasn’t right for Ash. When he came back you could see it in their relationship, it was like they were friends. There was no passion between them even though Sawyer thought there was but wasn’t willing to do anything more than kiss her.

Of course there were secrets that came out from Beau’s mom. Neither one of them was willing to accept it at first but of course, Sawyers dad confirmed it. I won’t be spilling any of the secrets here, so you should just buy the book and read it. It was such a great story; I loved it from the first word until the last.

I give this story 5 out of 5 stars.
