The Lost Prince

Don’t look at Them. Never let Them know you can see Them.

That is Ethan Chase’s unbreakable rule. Until the fey he avoids at all costs—including his reputation—begin to disappear, and Ethan is attacked. Now he must change the rules to protect his family. To save a girl he never thought he’d dare to fall for.

Ethan thought he had protected himself from his older sister’s world—the land of Faery. His previous time in the Iron Realm left him with nothing but fear and disgust for the world Meghan Chase has made her home, a land of myth and talking cats, of magic and seductive enemies. But when destiny comes for Ethan, there is no escape from a danger long, long forgotten.

I received this book months ago from Netgalley. I know I am a little behind, trust me I realized that when I looked at my Goodreads read list and realized that there were a ton of books without the words “Reviewed” next to them. Shows me not to go on a hiatus. I had really, really high hopes for this book because of the Iron Fey series that I absolutely loved. Now I was so excited that there was going to be a book about a teen Ethan. He was so cute in the last series and this time around he was so angry about everything and everyone.

I could understand to an extent why he was angry, but I felt he unjustly blamed Meghan for it. She really had no option but to leave him and we all know how time is completely different in their world vs. ours. I did like her cameo and of course Ash’s cameo in the book but I really wished that they had a bigger part but I understand that it was not their story anymore, it is Ethan’s.

We meet a few new characters in this book, I loved Kenzie and Kierran. Kenzie had a great outlook on life and I completely understood why when it was revealed in the book. I wasn’t a big fan of how Ethan treated Kenzie. He definitely had his moments where he was sweet but really he had more jerky moments then I like in a character. Kierran happened to be awesome, I am not telling you how he comes into play in the story because it will give everything away.

The story was good though and I loved some of the new characters, like I said before. I was also happy to see a few characters come back to this story. I am hoping the next book that comes out this September, The Traitor Son, is a little better. I want Ethan to try and be a better person probably more than I should since he is a character in a book.

“Something landed on my desk: a half sheet of notebook paper, folded into a square. I didn’t look up, not wanted to know who’d lobbed it at me. Slipping it beneath the desk, I opened it in my lap and looked down.

U the guy who burned his school? it read in messy handwriting.” page 14
