My Boyfriend Merlin by Priya Ardis (My Merlin #1)

My Boyfriend Merlin by Priya Ardis (My Merlin #1)     Join me as I love one book at a time.

If you can’t trust your boyfriend, who can you trust?

In this modern Arthurian, 17-year-old nice girl Arriane, aka Ryan, DuLac just found out her badass biker boyfriend, Matt, is a little older than he was letting on. By a few eons.

In fact, he is really Merlin–the Merlin, King Arthur’s Merlin, the greatest wizard who ever lived. But Ryan’s not impressed. Tired of being a relationship loser, she’d rather kick his legendary behind.

Sure, the world has been crazy ever since the sword and the stone fell out of the sky like a meteor. But despite gruesome gargoyles, a new world of magic, and the guy driving her crazy, Ryan knows that family is everything. Will Merlin sacrifice hers to save the world? Will she be able to stop him? From Goodreads.

There wasn’t a single thing that I didn’t fall in love with in this book. Merlin and an evil brother?? Yea that is pretty awesome. But not nearly as awesome as the next Arthur coming of age, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love the Arthurian tales and who won’t fall in love with this trilogy.

Now Ryan is adopted by a family friend since her mom passed away, she is close to her adopted family because that is all she has left in the world. She falls for Max who in turn turns out to be someone pretty awesome. Bad guys trying to take out the people that may possibly be the next Arthur, I mean this book had so much. Not to mention the pretty awesome love scenes between Ryan and Matt and Ryan and Vane.

Now I totally was thinking that Vane was going to be super evil and try and take out the group that Matt brought in but he actually seemed to care. He went out of his way to teach Ryan and ended up falling for her more than I think even Matt. Which I thought would have been impossible. Ryan had to train to learn to beat not only the other candidates, and makes friends with most of them like Gia and of course her adopted brother Grey. She also had to deal with Vane being a butthead most of the time to her, of course she found out why later. But she also learned how to defeat the gargoyles that want their power.

In the end of the book Ryan had to make a decision that could potentially have really bad consequences in the next book. Although I loved who ended up being the next Arthur, I also loved what Matt did to make sure she got what she wanted, time to grieve her adopted sister’s death.

I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars!

The Forest of Adventures by Katie M. John (Knights Trilogy #1)

The Forest of Adventures by Katie M. John (Knights Trilogy #1)

For Mina Singer, falling in love with a knight on a white horse was never part of the plan.

Finding herself catapulted into fairyland she discovers that the Real World is not quite what she thought and fairyland is not quite what she imagined.

The question is… who will come out alive? From Goodreads.

I found this one day on Goodreads and I fell in love with the story. I get the whole insta-love with Blake and Mina, they had been dreaming of each other their whole lives so it technically wasn’t insta-love. I loved the retake on the Arthurian legends, yes I admit I love Camelot and everything with it. I even watched the show on Starz Camelot with the soon to be Jace from Mortal Instruments, Jamie Campbell Bower.

Mina was a nice girl who just happened to be dating her best friend and had to break his heart because she fell in love with Blake. She ends up finding out all his secrets and eventually learns that Morgan Le Fay wants Blake something fierce. She was willing to do a lot of horrible things to get him, but that just showed me that she didn’t really want him.

Sam ends up getting in a car accident and falls into a coma meanwhile Mina and Blake get close and kinda start dating before she is able to break up with Sam. Of course she eventually has to make a huge decision that ends up breaking her heart, Sam wakes up and they break up. Now you would think happily ever after for Blake and Mina? Of course not, Morgan is around and had already made Blake do something so horrible he isn’t able to forgive himself.

Honestly I really loved this book and I couldn’t put it down when I read it. I was just lucky to be one of the winners that one the trilogy when she did a blog hop for the release of the third and final book.

I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars.
