Rapture by Lauren Kate (Fallen #4)

Rapture by Lauren Kate (Fallen #4)

The sky is dark with wings . . . .

Like sand in an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past they must find the place where the angels fell to earth. Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this—live only to lose Luce again and again.

Yet together they will face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies . . . and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed. And suddenly Luce knows what must happen.

For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they’ve borne has always and only been about her—and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now will be the only one that truly matters.

In the fight for Luce, who will win?

The astonishing conclusion to the FALLEN series. Heaven can’t wait any longer. From Goodreads.

What an ending to such a great story! I totally didn’t see it coming at all. I am glad that Luce figured things out and realized that she really does love Daniel and is willing to always choose him over anyone else. Honestly it was quite nice to hear, I was a little worried that she wouldn’t choose him especially since her and Miles kissed in Passion.

This time they all are on the hunt for 3 things that have kinda fell off the face of the planet that will help them find the site where they all fell to Earth. They are all trying to stop Lucifer, even the demons (Cam, Roland and Molly). Mainly because if Lucifer does what he says he will do then they all will disappear.

Luce finds out everything about her past, even from where she came from. She also finds out who she fell in love with first, which was a HUGE shocker to me. I thought she was purely human but I found it weird that Lucifer took such a personal hatred toward her and Daniel.

I definitely recommend this book because it was well worth it, even when the story got a little slow in the other books, Rapture definitely makes up for it. When the end came I was almost sad that the story was over, I would like to see Daniel and Luce after everything. Like a few years into the future. I don’t think it will happen but it would be nice.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Passion by Lauren Kate (Fallen #3)

Passion by Lauren Kate (Fallen #3)

Luce would die for Daniel.

And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn’t need to be that way. . .

Luce is certain that something—or someone—in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime . . . going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel . . . and finally unlock the key to making their love last.

Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history.

Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames . . . forever.

Sweeping across centuries, PASSION is the third novel in the unforgettably epic FALLEN series. From Goodreads.

This is the third in the series, and I loved this one. I loved that Luce went back in time to find out why she loves Daniel. I loved each and every past life that she went through. Meanwhile she was looking for reasoning in her past life, Daniel and everyone else went in search of her.

Daniel just barely misses her in each past life until the very first life that she had. That is where he catches her and everything is okay. Well as okay as it can be, seeing as Luce finds out that her travel partner has been lying to her the whole time and plans on getting revenge for something that she still at that time doesn’t understand.

I don’t want to give too much away about the books because they were really good and definitely worth reading. I loved the angel and demon relationships, even the instant love were better than most other author’s. With each past life Luce learned more about herself and more about what she can do possibly in the future. I liked watching her grow as a character in the book.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Fallen by Lauren Kate (Fallen #1)

Fallen by Lauren Kate (Fallen #1)

There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her. From Goodreads.

This series is pretty good; each book got better then the last one. But let me start from the beginning. Luce is pretty much a good kid but something unexplainable happened to her and she is kinda tortured by it. She thinks she just a harbinger of death basically. Her feelings kinda suck but it is the life of a teenager.

I loved how her parents sent her to a reform school that is like 20 minutes from them; which means that they could visit her when they were allowed to. Her parents seemed upset about everything that happened to her and only want her to get better. They seemed like good parents.

Now when she gets there she meets a bunch of new people. There is Daniel, Roland, Arriane, Gabe, Molly, and Cam. Also her best friend there happens to be Penny. She also gets close to Arriane, but not as close as Penny. The story was kinda slow at first but it picked up when she found out all the secrets about Daniel.

The love story was really great. Yea it kinda was the instant love that I dislike but at the same time it was different. When she finds out that they have been in love throughout time it made more sense. Of course, Daniel is so sad because he has had to watch her die over and over again. This would make anyone super sad or heartbroken and not want anything to do with that person like he did at first with Luce.

I really liked the story; it was sad and loving throughout it.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout (Lux #1)

Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don’t kill him first, that is.
From Goodreads.

I haven’t done a review for Jennifer’s books yet, but I have fallen madly in love with the books that are out of hers. In this book Kat is spunky and a book lover too! So I felt I could relate with her more than most female characters. Plus I wouldn’t let a guy talk to me the way Daemon did to her either. No matter how hot he is.

The whole story was amazing. Honestly, there are few authors that I absolutely love and Jennifer just so happens to be one of them. I felt that the story flowed very well; there wasn’t a point in the book that I was like ‘Come on with the story already’ which I was surprised. This is the first alien story I read and I was hooked.

Daemon and Katy have a very hot passionate relationship. Sometimes Katy wants to smack him in the face and other times she wants to make out with him. I loved that about them, I wasn’t sure how Daemon felt about Katy really until the end of the book, which I liked because it wasn’t instant love. More like lust but that’s better. Instant lust is more relatable.

The other characters in the book were funny too. There was Dee, Daemon’s twin, who seemed so vulnerable and she is very lovable. I just wanted her to be able to do whatever she wanted just so she wouldn’t be sad anymore. Her regular friends were just so funny, especially about Daemon. But I couldn’t blame them, he is gorgeous so it makes sense that they would leave her to hang when he starts talking to her.

I love this series so very much, it is unbelievable. I give this book 6 out of 5 stars because it was that awesome!

Kiss of Frost by Jennifer Estep

Kiss of Frost by Jennifer Estep (Mythos Academy #2)

I’m Gwen Frost, a second-year warrior-in-training at Mythos Academy, and I have no idea how I’m going to survive the rest of the semester. One day, I’m getting schooled in swordplay by the guy who broke my heart—the drop-dead gorgeous Logan who slays me every time. Then, an invisible archer in the Library of Antiquities decides to use me for target practice. And now, I find out that someone at the academy is really a Reaper bad guy who wants me dead. I’m afraid if I don’t learn how to live by the sword—with Logan’s help—I just might die by the sword… From Goodreads

I really enjoy the books that just get better each book. This time they, Logan, Gwen, Daphne and Carson go with Mythos to a ski resort for school with the other students from the New York Academy. Of course Gwen doesn’t really want to go because she doesn’t want to see Logan make out with his girlfriend Savannah. I mean who would want to do that with the guy that they have been crushing on for months now?

This time around there is 2 new Spartans in the story, Oliver and Kenzie. Kenzie is all about trying to help Gwen but for some reason Oliver is totally against helping her. Of course we find out later as to why he is like that at first. Now before Gwen even leaves for the ski resort, she has some close calls. Leaving her Grandma’s house she is almost hit by an SUV and while in the library someone shots an arrow at her. Knowing that, I wouldn’t really be all up and about to go on a semi vaca from school either. But Daphne and her grandma talk her into going for her own good.

While there, she meets Preston who is from the New York Academy. And this does not go over well with Logan, which is ridiculous since he has his own girlfriend that isn’t Gwen. Now things get weird while skiing with Daphne and Carson, she learns that she can use memories from her psychometry to be able to do something, like skiing. At the bottom of the slope she is almost attacked by a Fenrir wolf. Now she knows someone is after and it most likely is the Reapers since she is blamed for Jasmine’s death.

Not to mention the fact that while she was walking down the mountain from the carnival, someone sets off an explosion that causes an avalanche, which gets her and the wolf stuck together for a few hours. This causes affection from the wolf to her since she helped take a branch that was in its leg out. Gwen ends up getting found by Coach Ajax, luckily.

The bad guy ends up being a Reaper and also Jasmine’s older brother. He is out for revenge since she killed Jasmine. Even though she didn’t and that was Logan. At one point right before she finds out who the Reaper is, she thinks that it is Oliver. He was just trying to scare her so she won’t reveal who his crush is. I get why he did what he did. I am just glad it worked out and that they all became friends.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Out Of The Dark by Quinn Loftis

Out of the Dark by Quinn Loftis (The Grey Wolves #4)

Darkness has descended on the Transylvanian Alps.
Four packs of the powerful Grey wolves – in a rare show of cooperation – had joined together here in an effort to help their pack members find true mates. Then they were betrayed by one of their own – an Alpha hell-bent on becoming the most powerful of the Canis lupis. And though the wolf’s assassination attempt on the currently-reigning Romanian Alpha failed, his plans to get Decebel, the Romanian Beta, out of the picture were coming together even as his treachery was discovered. The wolf fled, leaving destruction, death, and a missing mate behind him.

Unbeknownst to the other packs, the wolf has employed a witch to finish the deadly job and help him gain another tool to increase his power. A curse of devastating proportions will cripple Decebel in a way that may dissolve his fragile bond with Jennifer. Meanwhile, injured and alone, Jen has been fighting for her life. She had come to terms with her fate, accepting that she would not share a life with Decebel, until help came in the most unexpected form…

Vasile will have to use all his resources – including Sally, the new gypsy healer of the Romanian pack – to discover a way in which to destroy the witch, lift the curse from Decebel and reunite him with the one woman who makes him whole, and solve a mystery that’s been surrounding the Romanian pack for 300 years. From Goodreads.

Oh geez. It is just getting crazier. Sally is a Gypsy healer, Jen and Dec are still separated but it is worse than ever since he was cursed to forget all about her, the curse was originally for Fane and Jacque, the mansion that everyone was staying at burnt to the ground because of a witch. It was crazy, luckily for Jen she was found by Grey Wolves that were hiding for that witch because the girl is a Gypsy healer and also a wolf.

Throughout the story I really, really wanted to cry for Jen and Dec. They went through so much and it just got worse and worse. Eventually they bonded and married. But tragedy struck again but luckily the Fey stepped in and saved the day. Literallly.

I don’t want to give too much away because the story is great from book one all the way through. But this time Sally and Costin are learning how to get along since there is a pull to each other but they don’t understand how because she doesn’t have any wolf blood in her. Just the Gypsy blood which is explained eventually by Jen and Jacque to her and Dec and Vasile explain it to Costin.

The battle was pretty epic but obviously it isn’t over since the reason why it happened at all was the witch and she managed to get away. I am hoping there is another book, I am sure there is but there isn’t any info out yet about it. I know I don’t give much away but I really like this story, she took another step with the werewolf legend and changed it up enough that made it completely different then most stories out there. I do recommend reading this series if for no other reason than the hot guys in it.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
